The country's first telecom provider Qatar Telecom dipped 0.57 percent, closing at QR139.20. Earlier in the day, the management of Qatar Exchange announced the addition of bonus shares to Qatar Telecom (Qtel) Investment Limited shareholders' accounts after the increase of the Company's capital to reach 1.76bn Qatari Riyals distributed on 176,000,000 shares. "Based on the aforementioned, the shareholders will be able to trade the said shares as of Tuesday, March 29, 2011", the statement says.NASDAQ DUBAI CLOSES WITH LOSSES: The FTSE NASDAQ Dubai UAE 20 Index closed at 1650.90, down 0.58 percent from the previous close. Port operator DP World weakened 0.83 percent, finishing at $0.595. Jewellery trader Damas International plunged by 5 percent, closing at $0.095.

BANKS, INSURERS LIFT KUWAIT STOCK EXCHANGE: The KSE Market or Price Index closed 0.27 percent higher at 6,323. The banking and insurance segment gained 0.75 percent and one percent respectively. The country's largest lender National Bank of Kuwait closed unchanged at KD1.160. Pearl of Kuwait Real Estate Co. (up 11.11 percent at KD0.025) was the top gainer, while Securities Group Company posted the largest decline (down 13.57 percent at KD0.242).


2. Three Businesses Expanding in Ligonier, Indiana

Three businesses are expanding in Ligonier, Indiana. Jeld Wen, BRC Rubber, and Advanced Metal Etching (AME) will all make investments.

Jeld Wen is investing $2.5 million to add a coil production line to its existing facility.

“The new line has the effect of doubling our door skin stamping capacity,” said General Manager Tom Griewank. “In effect, it increases the capacity of the whole plant and makes us better positioned to accommodate an upswing in the economy. We will have the capability to build more product, which will require hiring more employees.”

BRC Rubber and Plastics is investing $430,000 to move to a larger facility that will permit the company to expand. The company expects to hire an additional 40 employees.

“We recently hired an Industrial Sales Account Manager in order to expand our industrial customer sales base,” said BRC Executive Vice President Mike Meyer. “In addition, BRC has a history of making acquisitions and in-sourcing the new business into existing facilities; however the timing is not always predictable. We must be ready when opportunities become available.”

AME will add a new company branch called AME Swiss Machining. The startup branch currently has one employee, but expects to expand into a new location with 10 more workers within four years.

3. Food Lion to open new store in Savannah

 Food Lion will unveil its new Savannah store, 701 Martin Luther King Blvd, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday at 7:45 a.m.

The first 200 customers to enter the store Wednesday will receive a free Food Lion reusable bag filled with private label products.

Several members of the community are scheduled to attend the ribbon-cutting event.

Key members expected to attend the grand opening festivities include Mayor Otis Johnson, Carver State Bank representatives Robert James Sr. and Robert James Jr. and St. Phillips AME Church Pastor John Foster.

Food Lion will present a $30,000 check to the Community Kitchen and a $500 check to Gaston Elementary.
